Good pleasant afternoon to all of you. Seward Ranger District is pleased to announce a few more areas that are now open to Winter Motorized use: Snug Harbor Road access to Lost Lake, Summit Lake, Palmer Creek and Resurrection Pass Trail System, please see the attached map. Remaining closed are Carter/Crescent, Lost Lake, Primrose and Snow River.

Several areas of glaciated ice in varying locales may pose difficulties in getting beyond them. Most notably Resurrection Pass North between mile 3 and 6, Slaughter Ridge Road ¾ mile beyond winter parking area at the glaciated hill and West Juneau Road below 900 feet in elevation, travel with studded tracks is recommended.

Creeks and rivers are adding more ice during this cold spell, water is backing up in many locations giving very little warning when ice dams break letting loose a gushing wall of water and ice from bank to bank.
