Trail Lakes

Good afternoon.
The current temperature at Trail River is 21 degrees.
Tandem classic tracks were set from Crown Point to just short of the trestle on the far north end of Upper Trail Lake this afternoon.
Access points to this network are as follows: Vagt Lake Trailhead (Lower Trail Lake,) behind the pavilion at Trail Lake Lodge (Upper Trail Lake,) the “ball diamond” just north on the Seward Highway from Moose Pass (Upper Trail Lake.)
There is roughly 14k of classic track on Upper and around six k on Lower.
Skiers may encounter overflow, consistent windy conditions, active trapping areas and snow machine traffic.
Please plan, prepare and travel accordingly.
If you are skiing all the way through, please be respectful of skirting private as well as Alaska Railroad property.  Expect to walk or sloppy ski a little less than 1/4 mile on the portage between Upper and Lower Trail Lakes.
Enjoy!
